The Columbans first arrived in 1921, and a permanent centre was established in 1943.

Over the decades fifty New Zealanders have joined the Columbans. Twenty now work in Fiji, Australia, Taiwan, Peru, Korea, Japan, Pakistan and in New Zealand.

The moral, financial and spiritual support of the home church is crucial to a missionary outreach. Supporters across New Zealand show interest and assist all aspects of our overseas mission work.
The centre of Columban operations is in the capital city, Wellington.
The work includes:
Mission Awareness, Education and Networking
Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation
Fundraising
Inter-Faith Dialogue
Liturgy and Retreat Work
